Aware Super Mission Statement

Who is Aware Super?

Previously known as First State Super, we changed our name to Aware Super in September 2020.

We are the fund for people are community minded. Providing superannuation, advice and retirement solutions to teachers, nurses, police and emergency service workers, government employees and others who care for our communities.

In July 2020 we merged with VicSuper and together we are one of Australia’s largest super funds, managing more than $120 billion in savings for more than 1 million members.

Our members work in roles that breathe life into their communities and they expect us to do the same. So we invest in assets that we believe will make a positive difference today-improving our communities, building a more a sustainable economy and supporting employment both locally and globally at the same time as providing strong long-term returns.
Being aware means supporting our members and the communities they work in.
We’ve always been aware as a fund. As a name, it echoes the strengths of our past, aligning to our purpose to be a force for good in superannuation, retirement and advice, driving better outcomes for our members, their families and communities.

We support our members everyday to reach for a better future by advocating for positive change, offering financial education and ensuring we focus on delivering sustainable long-term returns. While our brand and name may be changing, our commitment to helping you live the life you choose won’t waiver. We will continue to support you the way we always have, and our local service centre representatives are here to help as they always have been.
